The European Network Indicators Designers (ENID) is an association under the French law , whose objective is to promote the cooperation between institutions and individuals working in the field of Science and Technology Indicators (STI). In particular, it aims to promote following activities in the field:
The creation of ENID is the result of the experiences in the indicators field done during the European Network of Excellence on Policies for Research and Innovation in the Move towards the European Research Area (PRIME), which led to develop some key notions at the hearth of the ENID approach - like those of design and of positioning indicators - and to create the basic network of ENID members. ENID is an open network where all organisations and individuals active in the field of STI indicators can join and contribute to its activities. Members are also encouraged to propose activities to be developed in ENID, provided they dispose of the needed funds; all activities must be accessible to the members of the network.
